Sidnaw / Bruce Crossing Trail Report – 01/02

Groomer Report:
Trail Condition: Good
Last Groomed: January 01st, 2023
Reported On: January 02nd, 2023 @ 8:47am

We groomed all the trails on the 1st. Now we have a breakdown on our New Holland and the dealer is closed today so one half of our system will not get groomed tonight, not sure if we will send our other groomer east or west from Trout Creek tonight.

We groom every day that the weather conditions and equipment allows. There may be unforeseen circumstances that prevent us from going out, like a major blizzard and being snowed in at our homes or equipment breakdowns.

There is log hauling just north of Sidnaw for a few miles, it is signed. Trails 8/15 and the south end of trail 174. Be cautious of logging trucks and equipment in the area.

The logging on the north end of trail 174 has started, use CAUTION in this area!

Groomers have the right of way on the trails, pull over and stop to let them safely pass!
We now have Groomer Tracker installed in our groomers.

ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via Scott's Superior Inn and Cabins >> ❄️ Ontonagon / Porcupine Mountains Trail Report ❄️
I went for a ride after all the fresh POW piled up on us this weekend, and WOW — these trails are absolutely fantastic right now.
We picked up about a foot of light, fluffy snow over the weekend, and Mother Nature isn’t done yet. Another 6–10 inches is falling today, adding to an already solid base. The cold weather is hanging on, and with steady lake-effect snow expected throughout the week, conditions are shaping up beautifully across the western U.P.
Trails are smooth, well-covered, and riding great — this is the kind of snow we wait all season for. If you’ve been thinking about making a trip, now is the time. The Western U.P. is definitely the place to be right now.
🏁 Riding the Ontonagon & Porkies area? Make it easy on yourself and stay right on the trail at Scott’s Superior Inn & Cabins — warm rooms, sled-friendly parking, and Lake Superior views when you’re done riding. Come ride hard, then relax with us! 🏁 #ontonagon #westernup #snowphotos❄️ Ontonagon / Porcupine Mountains Trail Report ❄️

Newberry Trail Report – 01/01

January 1, 2023 6:30 pm

Happy New Year! We were able to get out this afternoon and tonight to try and clean up the trails the best we can. The temperatures are still moderately warm, but the nights are fairly cold. The gate at County Rd 500 over to the Falls is still closed. There are a fair amount of water spots that have opened up. We will need freezing temperatures and more snow to make an impact. The details are below for specific trail grooming. We wish we had some better news, but we are doing the best we can with what we have to work with.

In other news we are raffling off a a 2023 Polaris Sportsman 450 Donated by Renze Power Sports.

Tickets: $100.00 each
Drawing held April 22, 2023 @ 7:00pm at the Elks Lodge in Newberry
300 tickets printed
If less than 125 tickets are sold then the raffle will revert to a 50/50 drawing.

Tickets can be purchased from: Newberry Power Sports, Halfway Lake Cottages, North Store Follow Me Outfitters, Pine Stump Restaurant, Schubach Farms Cabin Rentals, or
Rich Rottier 616-550-8201.

Proceeds will go to fund trail grooming equipment! Good Luck!
Stay on the Trail!! Ride Right and Be Safe!! Please be respectful of private property, howbeit it fields or peoples front yards.
Curfew in the Village of Newberry is 11:00pm to 7:00am.
Trail 9: Cleaned up and panned down what we could late today. Logging on County Rd 415 toward McMillan.

Trail 45: The gate to the Falls is still closed. We will be heading out on this trail tonight and try to clean it up. The trail is fair at best. There is logging on the trail shortly after you jump on Trail 45 just past the Logging museum off of M-123. There is also be logging about 3 miles North of Skyline Road off to the right. Please use extreme caution in these areas! Both portions are being plowed and is down to mud currently.

Trial 9/2: Fair is a stretch. Over to Trout Lake from Rexton is poor.

Thank you to all the team at the groomers barn who puts in countless hours to keep the system groomed and maintenance on the machines!

Your grooming team from the TASA Barn!

PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org >> 1/17/26
22 degrees this morning and cloudy. Supposed to get a little snow today but the main thing is its supposed to stay cold for the foreseeable future! It snowed an blowed all day yesterday, its hard to say how much snow we got but I`ll call it 3-4". Been having trouble with my computer the last few days so I`ll say sorry cause I haven`t been keeping up on my reports. Here`s whats been going on with our trails.......
Its been really cold the last few days so we`ve been playing catch-up on our trails since that rain and warm up. Yesterday we took 2 machines w/o drags and ran trail #8 south to try and refreeze that trail down. The water holes on the power line and in the Federal Forest section really opened up with that warm up we had and made them impassable. Me and Groomer Dave were successful in gettin `er done! The gates are now open again in the Federal Forest and the big hole on the power line is filled in!! The swamp just south of town is still closed tho, I`ll cover that in a minute.
Today we are runnin the Pine Stump trails #8 & #9 and the Point trails #452 & #453. Tomorrow we are heading back into the Falls trail #45 with 2 machines w/o drags and see if we can`t get that finally froze in and opened up. If everything goes well in there we will get into the swamp south of town and see what we got on Monday. We will also run trail #8 south tomorrow with a drag.
So, there ya have it, a full run down on our system. If everything goes well we should have our full system opened up by the middle of next week.......FINALLY!!!!!!
LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
