Sault Ste. Marie Area Trail Report – 11/28

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 11/28/25

Good morning all!

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

No big snowfall for us in the Soo. Only 3” here at my place. Sounds like just west (Strongs area) received at least 10” at last check, and south of us in Cedarville about the same.

Hopefully temps will cooperate so it’ll stick around.

The season officially starts Dec 1st and we are ready to rock once conditions permit. There will be water holes in the usual spots until things freeze in. There have been BIG improvements made on trail 49, and the trail from Kewadin to 49 to mitigate the water we normally see early season, so we’re excited to be ahead of the game there!

There is “construction” going on on trail 480 that should be completed in January, and will much improve that section. More on that once things are open, but a heads up for now.

We need a good foot of snow and cold temps to start grooming.
We’ll keep you posted! ❄️❄️❄️

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 12/15/25
Hey guys! Rider report from Greg regarding trail 49. If you subscribe to our system on Groomer Tracker, you can see that we have not been through there since Lane set the trail a week ago, but we’ll update once we are able to get in there.
For now, good advice from Greg👍🏼
“The trail to Kinross is a disaster right now (trail 49 from Alberta Ln in the Soo to Gaines Hwy) The power line just as you get out of town has a big wet hole and once you get past that there are holes in the farm fields. Stay out until they open it. The big swamps are fine they just have no snow. The trails in kinross are good. Everything other than Soo to kinross is amazing”
We’ll keep you posted! #soo

Sledheads of Frederic – 11/26

Is there really a storm coming, I am already getting calls from those that want to come and ride the predicted storm. Remember that its still deer season till the 30th and you can only ride from 10 to 2 till the end of the month. Trails officially open on December 1. This is the first update I have put on since April 5. I just found out a month ago that my frederic-mi.com & my Sledheadsusa.com site had been hacked and gone since sometime after April. This finally came back up after I had a company retrieve my info. So time to start a new season of updates and hopefully that I wont get hacked again. I cant believe people have nothing better to do than going after a website to cause people head aches. Below are a couple pics off my camera in the front and rear of Sledheads. You can see the Swamp bar across the street. My gut feeling is that if we do get snow its going to be a slush bowl. Time will tell. Thanks for checking in. Pete P.S. Even if this page decides to get hacked again my facebook page for Sledheads of Frederic Michigan Snowmobiling has been there all along. Pete
