Well we are finally getting some new snow!!! Temps are still in the teens with the forecast calling for Lake effect Snow warning in effect until Sunday.
GOGEBIC RANGE TRAIL AUTHORITY are out grooming reporting trails are good although there are areas where riding will be fair. Trails 2-8 and 11N are all in good condition but watch for corners may be icy. 11S is in good shape watch for logging trucks signs are posted where they are logging, 160 is good with the exception of the portion they are logging by the Wisconsin boarder this part is poor but passable.
Lake Gogebic Area groomers are out. Reporting with the new snow they received all trails are in good to very good conditions.
Watersmeet Area is reporting that there groomers are still on hold but will go out tonight if they receive the snow they are calling for. The trails should improve to fair.
Our 800# is down so when calling you will not get a recording. Hopefully it will be fixed soon!!! Check back for updates and check out our webcams around the area at westernup.info ….

TASA Trail Report

Warning: There is ice under the snow, please be careful.
We will be grooming today on Trail #9 to the Falls
It’s snowing we have about 4 new inches on the ground around town, and more as you head north with more coming!!
Trail in town is in poor condition.
Trail 9 north to Pine Stump has a 1 – 4 inch base and is in poor to fair condition, more snow as you go north and west.
Trail 45 has a 1 – 3 inch base with more as you go north, and is icy. The trail is starting to freeze with Highs in the 20s and Lows in the teens, .
The Newberry trail 9 to Rexton is in poor condition with a 1 – 3 inch base, please watch for the water hole north of Borgstrom road in Hemlock Ridge. From Rexton south to the wooden bridge 473 to Epoufette is rough from logging and lack of snow. The deer are out and moving so please watch for them. Please be careful on the trails and watch for icy spots.
