Benzie Area Trail Report – Benzie Bureau – 01/08

Benzie-Manistee Snowmobile Club – 01/08

Base: 6 inches
Snowfall Past 24 hours: 6 inches
Last Grooming: #1 south #3 north & #2 middle trail was done Friday and will be groomed tonight
Current Trail Conditions: Good

We had 8-10 inches of white fluff. Groomed reports: #1 south groomer was out from High Bridge to Crystal mountain. Middle #2 groomed Bear Lake spur thru Thompsonville. North #3 groomed Empire to Maple City groomed. PLEASE STAY on the Trails.

Benzie Visitor Bureau – 01/06

Hi all! Woohooh! Weekends comin and it should be great! We’re getting some snow again now and forecast is calling for 6-10" between now and Saturday! Yay! So, groomers are going out today AND tomorrow so it should be looking sweet by the weekend! So keep up the dance, keep the fingers crossed, its working! And gas em’ up and get ready to ride! By the way, if ya missed the last snowmobile safety class, there is another one this coming Saturday, the 8th, at the Snowbirds Clubhouse in Kaleva. Free of charge to anyone age 12 and up. Adults welcome and encouraged. Starts at 8am, ending about 2:30pm. Lunch provided by the Snowmobile Club. Clubhouse is at 14121 Industrial Ave. in Kaleva. AND plan on swinging in to the clubhosue on Saturdays thru Jan. & Feb. cuz every Saturday 10am -4pm. is Open House day at the Club! Everyone is welcome to stop by to warmup and visit! Hey – Please, do me a favor too… to keep ALL parts of the trails open for us, STAY ON THE TRAIL! This means YOU! Its not just a given that we get every inch of trail for our fun. We gotta stay on track at all times! By the way, those groomers are out there volunteering their time and energy to us, so if ya see one, get outta their way and give them a thumbs up as they go by! Newberry Trail Report – Visit Newberry – 01/08

Warning: There is ice under the snow, please be careful.

Trail #9 to the Falls is in fair condtion.

We have had a few new inches of snow and we are still expecting more over the next few days.

Trail in town is in poor condition.

Trail 9 north to Pine Stump has a 1 – 4 inch base and is in poor to fair condition, more snow as you go north and west.

Trail 45 has a 1 – 3 inch base with more as you go north, and is icy. The trail is starting to freeze with Highs in the 20s and Lows in the teens, .

The Newberry trail 9 to Rexton is in poor condition with a 1 – 3 inch base, please watch for the water hole north of Borgstrom road in Hemlock Ridge. From Rexton south to the wooden bridge 473 to Epoufette is rough from logging and lack of snow. The deer are out and moving so please watch for them. Please be careful on the trails and watch for icy spots.
