Gaylord Area Trail Report – Ray’s Retreat Country Inn – 01/19

Winter may have taken her time to get here – but she’s being good to us now. Snow! Snow! Snow! We have gotten several inches (at the minimum) each day this week. And today is no different. Another 3-6 inches today, and 2-4 overnight. Snow Season is definitely here.

The riding is good! Groomers have been busy keeping the trails in good shape.

This weekend is going to be a busy one out on the trails. We were booked early this week and have been getting many calls from people still looking for rooms, and reporting alot of the motels are full. So…
its time to come up during the week. When you can enjoy the trails with less traffic.

Everyone please ride safely – sure don’t want to read of another snowmobile death.

Groomers are out trying to work with what we have, so when your out having fun be careful rounding curves and topping hills there just might be a groomer coming the other way. Nows the time to ride. Have fun an be safe..

Mancelona Trail Report
Jordan Valley Trails Council
Updated: 01/19

Had some new snow last night and another half foot predicted. Trail conditions for the most part are very ridable and safe. There is not enough snow to make the trail completly smooth without digging into the dirt but we are able to take most of the bumps out so that the ride will be very good. The trail conditions drop off as you turn north along M66 out of the valley. The ride from there to East Jordan can be done but is not the best. I would not recomend trying to ride from East Jordan to Charlevoix yet. The weather report is calling for more snow this week so conditions should only improve. The JVTC has a new Dubie winged groomer this year that will be used on the Jordan Valley Trail and up to Charlevoix. This gives us two good drags and one that is well worn and waiting for replacement that we will do our best to keep together for the season. For everybody familiar with seeing the big Cat Challenger grooming through the Valley for the past 12 years it will not be seen this year. The Cat had a machanical failure so we have a John Deere tractor with Soucy tracks to use for this year and hopefully there will be enough money next year to replace the Cat with a new machine, Think Snow.
