FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 2/19 This is more like it but….. it came a little late to get riders to come north. It was snowing and blowing so hard in Grayling you couldnt hardly see 200 feet in front of you. Alot of drifting and I think 4 to 6 inches of snow. Already had 2 sets of sleds in here this morning and while there is plenty of snow for lube out there remember it is very icy underneath. I was plowing down at storage and sliding all over because of ice. Nice to see a little snow finally. The snow was stuck all over my house and garage from all the blowing overnight. It will be interesting to see how many riders actually come in here today. I really do not expect it to be busy. Thanks for checking in. The Swamp has been busy all day and its saturday and that makes me think about Frederic Inn prime rib. Went down to Houghton Lake last night for the second friday night at Tip Up Town. I havent been down there in 30 years or probably more. Once a year the State Police come thru Frederic on the train to catch riders doing rail road trespass which can be as simple as being to close to the tracks so the moral of the story is STAY AWAY FROM THE TRACKS. Usually the train has a MSP sign on it but it did not today but I did see a sheriff car following along on old 27. They have been thru twice this afternoon and it was just 2 engines which never happens any other time. Not to much else to say. Thanks for checking in. This has been a busy friday as I keep thinking its saturday. This whole season has brought in alot of people that havent been in here in years. That part is fun to see all of these past customers and memories I have with them. Little kids from years ago that are grown and bringing in their families. Bob Compton from south of Jackson who always says I need men sized shirts in here. He made an apperance here today after a many year absense. Not supposed to be much snow this weekend so get out and ride and enjoy it. Pisten Bully is still down on trail 4/76. NDA ordered Wednesday showed up Saturday afternoon. Crew got out there Sunday but found more damage and parts were ordered today.
If you happen to find this boogie wheel between Alba and trail 76 north of Elmira please notify us, we need to get our hands on it. New part is on order and scheduled to be in tomorrow.
If all goes as planned trails will be back in shape by end of the week.
