KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 02/23 Miranda Rutten and crew definitely made the best of unfortunate conditions while riding Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula! Miranda shared these photos and comments, “Thank you for your information! We appreciate it! We brought a group of 8 riders from North Dakota, where there’s horrible trails. Even though the trails weren’t groomed all the time up here in the UP, we enjoyed all the snow and the views!! Glad to come back up here after a great visit in 2019! We hope the groomers get all up and running to finish out the season 😄 Thanks for the great ride Keweenaw! ” Thank you so much for sharing the beautiful photos! KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 02/22 Well we try to share the good, the bad and the ugly so all riders can be informed on conditions in the area….. this is one of those bad…. to actually almost ugly posts…. As you know the club has had a string of bad luck when it comes to actual grooming equipment….. 4 of the 5 machines were broke down. One machine was repaired today and both running machines are currently out grooming. The warm temps the area experienced today are also not favorable in regards to trails even having a chance to “set up” Parts are supposed to be in for two more of the machines and I believe the club hopes to have them running yet this week sometime…I can assure you the Groomer Operators are doing ALL that they can possibly do to try to provide the best possible trails. I just want you to know the reality of the situation as of today…. A local rider who spends a lot of time on the trails had this to say about today’s ride “As far as trails go, I would honestly recommend people stay away until things improve. Usually by Keweenaw standards our “poor”may be “fair to good” to people from other areas, however this is about the worst I’ve seen it, in February anyways.
