LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming – 01/23 We have the privilege to get an opportunity to try out the all new redesigned trail 400 Pistenbully!  We got the blade that has wings that move and a narrower stance. We would also like to Thank Walker Equipment who made our Arrowhead Drag out of St. Germain Wisconsin for the transport of the groomer from the Dealship to our door step. For the people who have groomer tracker, don’t be alarmed that you see a trail on the tracker that hasn’t been groomed. It might have been done by the demo machine so it will not show up on the tracker. All our trails are being hit and groomed. Reports of fair to good conditions! We finally got some snow to cover up the thinner spots. Have fun and be safe! LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming – 01/22 Finally getting some snow! All trails are being hit! Here is a few pictures of the trails early this morning! Also we were advised that Forest Service Road 400 just North of Bergland is going to be closed due to logging. This will not effect our trail system, but a lot of sleds like taking that road to find off trail riding. You soar 80 feet above the river on a dedicated section for motorized vehicles to use, how awesome is that?! It's one of the tightest groomer sections we have that provides very little margin for error. It's also a great view of Lake Superior, the Trapp hills to the south, and really lets you know how pro-snowmobile Ontonagon is. It's a tremendous destination full of amazing eateries like Up north cafe (best pancakes on planet earth), Syl's Restaurant, GiGi's Coffee and Sandwiches, Connie's Coffee and Subs, and of course the famous Roxey's Bar and Grill! Winter is absolutely delivering right now. We’re over 160” for the season total so far.
We’ve measured 24 inches of fresh snow in just the last week and a half right on our deck, and conditions across the Porcupine Mountains and Ontonagon area are shaping up to be the best snowmobiling and skiing we’ve seen in many years.
Snowmobile trails are well-covered with a solid base, riding smooth and fast thanks to consistent cold temps. Off-trail snow is deep, fluffy, and exactly what you hope for up here. For skiers — both downhill and Nordic — coverage is excellent, with beautiful natural snow and classic Lake Superior powder conditions.

Snow was laying down perfectly tonight and the trail's are in excellent shape!! 102 is the best it's been so far this season. Early bird's get out there and enjoy!
8w still has some chop to it but overall turned out decent.
Generally speaking February is prime time for trail riding here in the yoop. Lesser traffic, temp's have been perfect and we've been basically getting light snow daily.

Such a busy week it's been. From keeping up with trail's and making sure both machine's are on the trail! We've had our hands full.
Temp's on Saturday got into the upper 20's and heavy traffic really took a toll throughout our system. We've been able to get everything back in shape, but some will take a couple passes to get back to Great Again!!

Will we make it to March 31st this season? It looks promising..

There are logging operations happening about two miles west of Kenton, use caution.
We are grooming our regular schedule, every day.
The trails are great.
Please ride on the RIGHT side of the trail and STOP at the stop signs!
Stay on the trail, if you don’t we could lose trail permissions on private property.
Groomers have the right of way on the trails, pull over and stop to let them safely pass!
We have Groomer Tracker installed in our groomers.
We groom every day that the weather conditions and equipment allow. Unforeseen circumstances may prevent us from going out, like a major blizzard and being snowed in at our homes or equipment breakdowns. #westernup

Temp's remain cold with light snow seems like daily. Our operator that went up 102 last night had reported very poor visibility but once you get up in the hills, that's pretty much been a common theme this season.
