PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org >> 02/24 2/24/25 As far as the trails go…..they are still in good shape. All operators that groomed yesterday reported them as good. Today is maintenance day so nothing will be run but we`ll hit them all tomorrow. This warm up for the next few days isn`t gonna help but they should hold….at least for our "high ground" trails. We`ll keep a close eye on our "low ground" trails…ie….the Falls trail #45 and the swamp south of town on trail #8. I see I haven`t given ya`ll a report since the 19th, that`s cause everything has been in great shape. I`ll keep ya`ll better informed since this weather change. 35 degrees this morning with a rain/freezing rain mix. We really had a great run in February with snow and cold temps but it looks like the next few days are gonna suck with temps into the upper 30`s. It does look like the temps will drop by the end of the week tho so lets hope we can hold on for one more month!!

The first one is the synoptic (aka "system") snow associated with a low that is moving east through southern Ohio. The counterclockwise flow around the low is shown over Metro Detroit as moisture interacts with decreasing temps, leading to this morning's snowfall.
Over the U.P. and Lake Michigan, the north winds are ushering in the coldest air of the season, which activates lake effect snow and transitions to the second portion of this snow event. Counties in the corner of southwest lower Michigan, northern Indiana and Illinois are set to receive a firehose of lake effect over the next 24-36 hrs, resulting in accumulations that could push one foot.
Portions of northern lower Michigan and the Saginaw Bay region are also set to receive lake effect snowfall through this evening, with amounts of 3-6 inches possible, with isolated higher amounts. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #newberry #soo #gaylord #cadillac #traversecity #petoskey
