It’s gonna be a busy weekend, I got here just before 9 and the sleds have been rolling thru.

Riders all day yesterday and so far this morning are reporting excellent trails, Mike Hill who is in here now said they rode 250 miles yesterday, up to the bridge and all around our trail system. His picture is also below that he took by my sign across the street.

I checked the motels this morning and was actually surprised they seemed slow with only 1 trailer at days inn and 11 at the Ramada. Last week ramada was full of jeeps and this week there are a whole group of hummers, hopefully they stay away from the sled trails.

There are already 2 trucks out back in my park and ride, I don’t mind if anyone parks and starts from back there all I ask for is donations for plowing. Have also had several more calls from people wanting to leave their trailers for the week at my fenced storage area.

I have a lot of room for more trailers down there. $40 a month and you don’t have to haul your trailer back and forth. I also heard from the Chosen One, Ohio Mike, He hasn’t been here in years and he said he is on his way up….So that s it for this morning, thanks for checking in. Finally it looks like a great weekend to get out and ride. We still have cold temps for today, but for the weekend our temps will be in the 20’s. Next week is a different story. They are calling for temps to be around 35. This isn’t good for grooming. Let’s hope they are wrong.

The Gogebic Range Trail Authority reports:

Overall conditions are very good. With our new snow and colder temps, our trails have set up good. In the last 36 hours, we have gotten between 6-10″ of new snow. All trails have been groomed and ready for this weekend.

Trails 11N,11s, and trial 160 are closed. Hopefully, the southern half of 160 will reopen the middle part January

Lake Gogebic Area Groomer Report

Trails are in great shape, all trails are being groomed every 24-26 hours. We’ve received plenty of snow over this last week. Upwards to a foot or more over the nothern area of our trail system. Some wet holes continue to be a problem, but it’s getting better. The only substantial wet hole is at the northern portion of trail 102 and our groomer drivers have assured us that you can ride around it without getting wet.

PLEASE DO NOT RIDE THE HWY. IN BERGLAND FROM JW’S RESTAURANT TO THE GAS STATION!!! YOU WILL BE TICKETED. YOU MUST TAKE THE TRAIL AND CROSS AT ANTONIO’S RESTAURANT TO ACCESS THE GAS STATION. THANK YOU.

All trails are in very good condition. The groomers are running daily. With all the new snow we have gotten riding should be great!!!
