Cadillac Area Trail Report – Visit Cadillac – 01/20

January 20, 2017 – VIA CADILLAC WINTER PROMOTIONS

Sure wish this January thaw would move on but it doesn’t appear likely for a few days yet. The trails are all slushy with an ice base. It’s too warm for the groomers to be running and to do any good. There are sleds running but sadly they aren’t doing the trails any favors. The groomers may not get out there to smooth things out before ruts and bumps freeze making it very difficult for the groomers to smooth out. Trail Conditions–Fair

To better access the forest trails, you’ll want to use one of the Staging Areas below:

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 01/20

Hazy morning at 32 degrees in Frederic, weather said chance of rain today, still very icy out there.

I went thru the motel lots this morning and Ramada and Days Inn were both at zero trailers there. Pretty empty looking.

The ISA (Indiana Snowmobile Association) has their annual ride this weekend based out of Treetops and Sledheads is one of the stops on their ride.

The first three sleds just rode into here from the ISA, they said the trails were good and groomed from Gaylord to Frederic so that certainly is encouraging.

If only the rain stays away. My feeling is its going to be a slow weekend but there will be riders out and about.

Also my website is coming up on the 3 Million hit mark. The first one in with the picture at the 3 million mark will receive some goodies, 4 spike burgers at Spikes, Sledheads Sweatshirt, koozies and key chain. That should happen in the next week or so. Thanks for checking in. Pete — http://frederic-mi.com/hazy-morning/
