HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club – 01/23
It’s going to be a great weekend to ride, the trails are in good shape! The railroad grade was rolled on Tuesday & will be done again tonight & Friday night. Everything else was done last night except halfway to Pellston, we had to turn around at tower road due to mechanical issues which we will be diagnosing / fixing today. We also skipped the cross village loop, that had little snow prior to this storm so we are letting it settle a few more days before grooming again Friday.
Beach’s Up North Tavern is having their vintage ride this Saturday! If you can’t make the ride come out to see the vintage sleds before the ride takes off at noon!

Matt is heading south on 76 from Chandler Hill Road to our turn around with Jordan Valley. The green dot are groomers. HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> We had all three groomers out last night & the snow was coming down! Everything was groomed other than the Alanson Trail & Cross Village loop. The Alanson trail has the least amount of snow on our system & there are still some open water holes but overall the trails are in good shape.
Trees are continuing to fall from the ice storm damage earlier this year so please keep that in mind when out riding & especially in high winds. If you come across a down tree & are unable to safely remove it from the trail please let us know.
Temperatures are supposed to stay cold through the weekend & we are expected to get another 2-6 inches of snow. There is a warm up predicted Tuesday-Thursday with possible rain, we are hoping that changes but we will keep everyone updated.

Several inches of snow is expected across parts of northwest lower and the eastern U.P. by Saturday morning with additional lake effect snow continuing through Saturday. Below zero wind chills are expected for most areas late tonight through Saturday. Wind gusts of 25-35+ mph will lead to patchy blowing/drifting snow, especially across open areas. Quickly dropping temps tonight may freeze wet roads by Saturday morning.
