HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club – 01/26
The trails were rode hard yesterday, there was roughly 150 sleds on Beach’s Up North Tavern’s vintage ride and tons of other groups out enjoying the snow.
With that being said the trails really took a beating. We only had one volunteer available to groom so unfortunately the railroad grade from Pellston to Mackinaw & the entire west side of our trail system will be in rough shape today.
Your best spots to be today will be from the Harbor Groomer barn east to Alanson & Pellston. Take a ride to Brutus Camp Deli for breakfast & get 10% off for riding your seld there or swing into Beachs in Pellston or the Jerk-N-Depot in Alanson for some lunch!

PETOSKEY AREA UPDATE via Petoskey Snowmobile and ORV Club >> Groomer Tracker app shows areas being groomed tonight, groomer Kyle just switched with groomer Matt. Matt is heading south on 76 from Chandler Hill Road to our turn around with Jordan Valley. The green dot are groomers. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Lake effect snow continues tonight into Sunday as winds shift more northwesterly, shifting focus of snows with time. HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> We had all three groomers out last night & the snow was coming down! Everything was groomed other than the Alanson Trail & Cross Village loop. The Alanson trail has the least amount of snow on our system & there are still some open water holes but overall the trails are in good shape.
Trees are continuing to fall from the ice storm damage earlier this year so please keep that in mind when out riding & especially in high winds. If you come across a down tree & are unable to safely remove it from the trail please let us know.
Temperatures are supposed to stay cold through the weekend & we are expected to get another 2-6 inches of snow. There is a warm up predicted Tuesday-Thursday with possible rain, we are hoping that changes but we will keep everyone updated.

Several inches of snow is expected across parts of northwest lower and the eastern U.P. by Saturday morning with additional lake effect snow continuing through Saturday. Below zero wind chills are expected for most areas late tonight through Saturday. Wind gusts of 25-35+ mph will lead to patchy blowing/drifting snow, especially across open areas.
