WATERSMEET – WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via U.P. Thunder Riders Snowmobile Club >> 01/17
UPDATED 1/17/26-Groomer Steve and Jeff went out last night. The trails our the best they’ve been in a while. Our base keeps building, the trails are smooth and the ride is awesome.
ALL OUR TRAILS OUR TWO WAY TRAILS! BE PREPARED FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC AT ALL TIMES! BE SAFE AND RIDE RIGHT!

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> High pressure will bring drier, sunnier weather back to the U.P. this weekend as temperatures finally return closer to normal with daytime highs in the 20s. All were reported in very good to excellent condition.

ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via Hamilton's North Coast Adventures >> Riding across the Ontonagon River bridge on trail 12 is a sight to behold! You soar 80 feet above the river on a dedicated section for motorized vehicles to use, how awesome is that?! It's one of the tightest groomer sections we have that provides very little margin for error. It's also a great view of Lake Superior, the Trapp hills to the south, and really lets you know how pro-snowmobile Ontonagon is. It's a tremendous destination full of amazing eateries like Up north cafe (best pancakes on planet earth), Syl's Restaurant, GiGi's Coffee and Sandwiches, Connie's Coffee and Subs, and of course the famous Roxey's Bar and Grill! Temp's remain cold with light snow seems like daily. Our operator that went up 102 last night had reported very poor visibility but once you get up in the hills, that's pretty much been a common theme this season.
Trail's covered last night/this morning. 102, 8w, 8e and 13s. Trail's are in good to great shape! Get out and Enjoy...

Groomer Gary is out grooming the west run which is trail 2 and 13s. Groomer Jeff is grooming trail 3 Land o Lakes to Bonds Falls and trail 2 east.
