Rating? EXCELLENT in the woods, Good in town!

On the ground? 3-5 feet! More on its way!

It is absolutely beautiful outside this morning. We got about 5 or more inches in town overnight, the trees are heavily laden with snow and more is on the way. It is a snowing and a blowing:

… Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5 PM EST Wednesday…

Hazardous weather…

snow… heavy at times… will continue into this afternoon. The snow will transition to lake effect snow showers tonight and Wednesday.

Expect snowfall amounts 5 to 9 inches by this afternoon and an additional 3 to 6 inches from this afternoon through this evening. Storm total snow accumulations of 12 to 18 inches are possible through Wednesday.

In addition to the snow… northwest winds gusting over 40 mph at times will result in considerable blowing and drifting snow later today through much of Wednesday… with near blizzard conditions possible.

Grand Marais Trail Report – 02/11

We had 37 degrees here yesterday with freezing rain, sleet, rain and snow last night. This morning it’s snowing big, wet flakes. It’s in the mid 30’s now. I am waiting to hear how things are out on the trails. With the amount of snow we have, they should be fine.
