Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 03/14

It was a nice 12 below to start the day and the sun is shining and it finally made it to zero about 1030.

Weatherman was calling for 4-8 inches of snow Thursday night to Friday night. Now they changed it to 3-6 inches Friday afternoon into evening. We can hope.

Trails in good to excellent shape and we continue to groom. Temps are to get a little above freezing this weekend but not much. Still cold nights. But this weekend may be the last as next week has several days in the 40’s.

Report on March 13

Cold temps and snow returned. And they are to stay good all the way to next weekend! Groomers are out mixing the fresh snow with the icy base making a good surface. Trails are in fair to good shape. There is snow road shoulders now but if sun comes out it will disappear fast

trails are icy and with the wind watch for trees

We are grooming all the way to Lakeshore Dr on trail #8 west of Raco as Paradise can’t get thru the swamp

Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 03/10

4 degrees this morning and about inch of snow with winter weather advisory all day. Trails icy covered but snow is sticking in the woods and making a decent surface when groomed. Groomers are out mixing the fresh snow and ice. Trails fair not great but rideable. Cold temps and lake effect snow called for all weekend.

<>

The weatherman was correct, the temp slowly dropped yesterday and we have 2-3 inches of new snow on ground and temp of 15 degrees. The next few days with highs in the teens and nightly lows of single digits. Groomers are out smoothing out the drifted new snow with the icy base left after warm up. Most trails will be in fair to good shape by Friday. Road shoulders will bare quickly and watch for limbs or trees after the 2 days of high wind.
