Munising Area Trail Report – 02/19

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA – 2/19

FRESH SNOW – GREAT TRAILS!
Overall trail conditions are very good with a good amount of fresh new snow and great riding conditions. In general we have a great flat base with trails starting to set properly for us and only a few sugary, icy corners, mainly on Trail 419 in the hills behind Munising. High traffic areas near Wetmore and North of Shingleton are expected to get beat up between grooming runs. Keep the cold weather snow dancing going, Enjoy the Trails and Ride Safe!

Munising Area Trail Report – 02/16

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA – 2/16

TRAIL REPORT – Sunday, 02-16-2020
GREAT TRAIL RIDING!
Overall trail conditions are very good, especially considering the lack of significant new snow over the last 6 weeks. Another dusting fresh snow has helped with grooming conditions last night. In general we have a great flat base with trails a bit sugary in areas. Dog Sled Races are this weekend so watch for signs like shown in the gallery, slow down in those areas and give right-of-way to the teams racing. We also have the Munising Ice Fest this weekend which will have increased traffic and vehicles out by Miners Castle. Keep the cold weather snow dancing going, Enjoy the Trails and Ride Safe! MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails – 2/14

Minus 3 degrees, some new snow, some drifted snow, a great pre grooming meal courtesy of the Chatham Pub, and a sweet person stopped us to say thank you and leave some snacks, all in all a great night, leading to excellent conditions for riders on Friday. We stopped to measure the trails base on one of the bridges and it looks to be around 30 inches.
As if it wasn’t enough to say thank you, and leave a bag of snacks, the group that stopped us never rode on the fresh groom as they headed off into the horizon letting the trail set up for others to enjoy the next day…
