Gaylord Area Trail Report – Ray’s Retreat Country Inn – 01/20

Mother Nature really showed herself last night. It was in the mid 30’s most of the day making the trail pretty sloppy. Had several riders that made a trip into town to dry their gear.
About 9ish last night the wind came howling in … sending that artic cold blast we had been waiting for as predicted. It was snowing heavily. Thunder and Lightning thru the snow. Beautiful.
Not sure just how much we got last night. Several inches. Snow continues to be in the forecast with an expected 12 inches by Tuesday.
The trail is and will be improving

Grand Marais Trail Report – 01/20

The words of the day – WINDY and very COLD. Layer up if you’re riding today. This Arctic Blast has dropped temperatures into the single digits to maybe a high of 15 degrees with wind chills in the -15 to -25 range, bringing another 5 to 9 inches of lake effect snow by tonight, another 5 to 8 tomorrow, with snow in the forecast for the next several days! Now this is winter in da UP, eh?!

As for the trails – tons of powder everywhere and drifts galore.
