We had our groomer go down again, but it’s up and running now. We will groom trail 12 west from Ontonagon to the Porcupine Mtns. today, and go east to Greenland tomorrow. Because we are down to 1 groomer, each direction will be groomed every other day, suppose to get our 2nd. groomer back next week.
There’s 16-24″ of snow on the ground, and they are calling for snow through the week.
Looking forward to another great snowmobile season in the Ontonagon area. Check out Scott’s Superior Inn for your lodging needs (906) 884-4866
We are offering a 25% discount on all lodging, every day, no min. stay!!!!!

The dogs and I just came in from a walk along the trail. Its in great shape. We could see that easily, and when we had to climb down along the railroad track for the speeding sleds it confirmed what I already knew. The trail is flat and fun to ride.

Photo: Jan. 26, 2013: Steady stream of traffic yesterday along Trail 7 south of Gaylord
The general agreement around the dining room this morning was that the trails held up well with all the traffic of yesterday. Everyone said it was the most traffic they have seen on the trail for many years. It was one sled after another all day and into the night. There were several police officers along the way parking and watching.
It’s a great day to get out and ride. Many of the weekend people will be headed for home.
