Newberry Trail Report – Halfway Lake Resort – 02/19

All trails north of Newberry are reported to be in great-excellent condition. Trails south of Newberry are reported to be very good. We have received 6″ of system snow and it is still coming down! The trees are snow covered and things are beautiful! There are big drifts due to blowing. Visit the snow depth chart to see that our area truly has the most snow! – The Snow Depth Map

Please ride safe. The hole on trail #45 has been marked and filled, thanks to the efforts of TASA groomers working with the DNR. A portion of this trail is plowed and used for logging, so watch for it to be icy with dips.

This trail report is not always updated on a daily basis, but we will update immediately if we are aware that conditions have changed. So, it is safe to assume that conditions remain as they were reported. If you have recent trail updates or suggestions, please feel free to email to us.

We are located 12 mi NW of Newberry and 7 miles S of Pinestump Junction. Between Grand Marais and Paradise.

Thank you for your phone calls. Availability: Opening 2/19 and 2/20. Full 2/21-2/22.

Benzie Visitor Bureau – 02/19

Hi all! Tuesday and back on the roller coaster. We saw 40’s yesterday with sunshine and rain. But now we are under an advisory for possible 6-8′ or more in the next 24 hours with some colder temps and high winds. Trails are holding up pretty well though with about a 6′ base overall. Trail 3 High Bridge to Kaleva and Kaleva to Thompsonville was groomed Sunday as was trail 3 Honor to Maple City and Trail 39. BUT groomers will not be out again till the temps get low enough AND we get more snow which hopefully is late tonight or tomrrow! So we’ll wait and see, should be ok for the upcoming weekend hopefully with the snow and cold forecast. So till next time! Be safe, be smart, have fun, and I’ll seeya on the trails! Carol
