Ontonagon Trail Report – Scott’s Superior Inn – 12/31

We got 8-12″ of fresh heavy snow, perfect for getting our trails back in shape after the warm-up and rain, there is a fair amount of water in places so watch for them!, if temps stay below freezing it shouldn’t take to long to freeze them up, traffic is very light right now, and looks like this weekend is going to be slow too. I know lots of you have good snow by home, but remember when everyone has snow, we have more and virtually no one riding, worth the extra drive to have better trails and very light traffic!

Scott’s Superior Inn and Cabins are located right on trail #12, and close to gas and food, we have lots of openings all season right now! (906) 884-4866

Lake Gogebic Trail Report – 12/30

LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming – 12/30

***Warning*** Trail 8 between Bergland and Wakefield is CLOSED due to water on the trail. The swamps opened up and sleds are getting stuck. Advised not to ride this trail at all until it freezes. We are attempting to groom 13 North and trail 8 to ewen tonight only. Most of all the trails have some type of water issues.

So if you do ride, use extreme caution….

We’ll keep you posted when we feel that trail 8 west is safe to travel.

LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming – 12/28

12-28-19 Gogebic Area Grooming (Marenisco crew)

Yesterday our drivers from Marenisco rounded up some people that have vacation houses in Marenisco to help clean up the mess on trail 13. Thanks guys for donating your time to help keep up on the trails during this unpredictable weather.

Last night and this morning we got a lot of rain! This is going to open up the wet spots even more. We are trying to keep up with the issues, but can’t get to everything in one day. As of right now the groomers are parked. They are doing more damage to the trail including getting stuck.

Use caution when riding the trails, as wet areas are creating holes that may appear that wasn’t there an hour ago. When the temperatures drop and snow falls we will be back out grooming. Looks like that will happen soon.
