Kurt’s run from last night! Kurt had this to say …..”trail 17 last night with my trainee.. People at times get the wrong misconception of what grooming is for us..Its not about driving down I-75 ,, it’s about creating our own little snow interstate…Moguls will never go away especially with high traffic and crazy high HP sleds..We, yes,, all of us groomers in da keweenaw make this happen..By the way,,these moguls are itty bitty compared to what we work against and then there is good old Mother Nature”

Snowmobile trails are in fair to good condition throughout the Keweenaw. Trail conditions are improving with cooler temperatures. Trails are groomed daily throughout the region.

Valley Sno Drifters trail from Lake Linden to Dreamland Restaurant & Bar is OPEN!
The Portage Lift Bridge is open to snowmobile traffic.
Trail 133 is closed for logging.
Trail 3 from Dollar Bay to Lake Linden and the Freda Trail (south of the Portage Lake Lift Bridge) will be closed the entire season for repair.

Remember when you’re out on the trails to watch out for the groomers. They have the right away.

Please stay on the trails, STAY OFF THE ICE, respect private property, do not drink and drive, and above all else, drive safely. The signs on the trails are there for rider’s safety so please DO NOT remove or destroy them.

Houghton County has received a total of 124.0″ of snow for the season and Keweenaw County has received 214.8″ of snow for the season.*

Tomorrow: Cloudy. A few flurries or snow showers possible. High around 25F.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy. High 27F. Winds light and variable.
Friday: More clouds than sun. A few flurries or snow showers possible. High near 30F.
Saturday: Mainly cloudy with snow showers around in the morning. High near 30F. Chance of snow 40%.

IRONWOOD / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority – ORV & Snowmobile Club – 1/29

Today Groomer Man Dan got the front blade put back on the Tucker and sent Scott and Charlie out! We’re down a groomer but the trails aren’t showing it Groomer Man Dan has kept our Tucker running constantly!! Minor bumps, berms on the trails seen, many still being cut from this weekend yet. Trails by far are in the best condition of the season! Our entire system has been groomed today, tonight and 160 will be hit tomorrow. We’ve finally moved enough snow leveling off many dips and softened or eliminated elevation swings – all things that help keep bumps from forming as fast. We’re widening trails where we can (cutting bumps out first of course) and the brief intermittent freezing rain AND the snow has given the trail base great bonding moisture. Be excited! Great trails ahead, each groom they are better than before! 2nd Annual Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser this weekend at the Wakefield VFW Post 9084! All you can eat pancakes by donation 8-12!
