Cheboygan Area Trail Report – 01/19

CHEBOYGAN AREA UPDATE via Cheboygan Trailblazers Snowmobile & Trail Grooming Club – 1/19

Trails are looking so good this morning the wildlife wanted first tracks..

<>

SNOW continues to fall. We have received around 6 inches of good system snow as of noon today. Be careful, trails are busy and visibility is low. Groomers going out nightly!

Again, this is one of the busiest weekends of the year please be patient at your local businesses and on the trail.

Ride right so you end up in your own bed at night! 🤔

Enjoy!

UPDATE to the UPDATE: Our system received 2-4 inches of good system snow last night. This will help build that base. Right now temps are hovering around 30. We are going to start sending groomers out when the temps get below 27. Trail 99 will be groomed tonight and we will assess if we can get on the other trails tonight/tomorrow. LET’S GET THIS SEASON STARTED (AGAIN). This weekend is gonna be a busy one, please ride safe!

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 01/19

It doesn’t get any better than this…..its a sunny sunday morning in Frederic at 16 degrees. A few new inches of snow overnight along with all the snow we had yesterday on top of everything the night before. I would say total in the past couple days we have to be close to a foot of new snow…..Lots of riders around all day yesterday and motels still full this morning.

I had to deliver a helmet out to Super 8 south of Grayling last night and I was surprised to see they had 31 trailers there, and that is more than the 26 at the Ramada and 21 at Days Inn this morning. It will be interesting to see how many stay around to ride yet tommorow. It took a long time but I am finally talking to riders that have rode up to the bridge. Yesterday was by far the busiest day of the season and it was snowing so hard most of the day it was tough to see across the street.

27 years go today I got the best birthday present you could possibly get. My daughter Melissa was born on my 36th birthday…..Hard to believe she is 27 and I am 63……boy that went by fast. She had asked me to go to Mizzoula Montana today but of course here I sit in Frederic……..sure would like to see some Montana snow…….Thanks for checking in. Pete
