Grayling Trail Report – Fay’s Motel – 02/06

Greetings Sledders,

Well the Sun didn’t behave and we lost a fair amount over the last couple of days. I groomed the trail South of M-72 yesterday and it’s getting pretty thin and icy. North of 72 the snow gradually gets heavier but it is also crusty from the daytime sunshine and nightly re-freezing.

I would imagine that the poor spots have only gotten larger, at least the ones in direct sunshine, and the dirty snow probably took a hit as well because it’s like a magnet when it comes to the Sun’s rays.

With all of that said the Davis guys were in and rode 210 miles yesterday and were happy with their rides. So things aren’t all bad. Although we do need snow and it looks at least promising but not until Sunday at the earliest.

We are continuing to groom on a regular schedule.

The trails can only take so much heat and with two weekends of cloudy skies with warm temps, rain, and mist and two days of Sun, the weather is taking it’s toll. So I’m dropping the overall rating back to fair with some poor spots mixed in. Another wacky winter indeed.

Next report Monday

Ride Often and Please Be Safe,
Keith, Sandy and The Girls
