Lake Gogebic Trail Report – 03/04

LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Bergland Bay Bar – 3/4

The trails in the Gogebic area are still in good shape. Trail 8 between Bergland and Wakefield is starting to open up a little. I’m told it’s passable on a sled but not on a groomer. Otherwise everything is flat and still being groomed. The weatherman is calling for anywhere from 1 to 8 inches between now and Friday depending on which report you look at. Had people in from Ontonagon, Watersmeet, and Marenisco yesterday and all was great. If you’re up this weekend, ride early. Supposed to be in the 40’s again on Saturday.

Trails should be great early on but I’m sure they will get rough as the day goes on. The lake has plenty of ice but it’s hard and bumpy. Sleds are trying to overheat on the lake. There are still a lot of people riding. Stay safe, stay right, stay warm, and stay in the Gogebic area. Come see us!
