Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 03/31

This is It! Its the last day of the 2019-20 Sled season that never was. Only 3 decent weekends of riding and 5 mediocre ones and not one storm during March. Typically I say this is parole day for me and I am released from Sledheads prison but I am still quarantined for who knows how long. Maybe we will get a storm in April but hey we cant ride anyways. I had a call yesterday from Francis who is one of the Grayling groomer drivers. I figured he was getting itchy to groom but he only called to tell me that some of one of my signs fell down. Going to try for a first time video conference call with anyone that wants to join in today at 3 this afternoon. Go to Zoom.us and sign up for a free account and join me and who knows what we can talk about. Join me at the link below. Pics below are the lakeshore starting to open up that I took last night on my walk and this morning of my hand squeezed o.j…….gotta do something……also now that this stranger than most season is over A HUGE THANK YOU to all that stopped in to see me this season and enjoy riding around our trails. Maybe this next winter will be better. Also Thank You to all that donated to my daughters study abroad program. Of course she was very dissapointed that both her trips to both Spain & Equador were canceled but she is still planning to try to go in the fall. Hope to see you online this afternoon. Thanks for checking in. Pete

Sidnaw / Bruce Crossing Trail Report – 03/30

We are at the end of another snowmobile season, the trails officially close at midnight tomorrow but in reality they are not rideable by snowmobile at this time so we are marking them closed. Thank you for riding our trails and visiting our local businesses this season! See you next season.

ORV riders are reminded that all snowmobile trails are NOT open to ORV’s. Our portion of trail 3 from Bruce Crossing to Rockland is NOT designated as multi-use so ORV’s are NOT allowed on it. Please respect the private property along this trail and stay off it unless you have permission from the land owner!

Please DO NOT climb the “Military Hill” from the highway, US 45, to the fence, we have ongoing erosion issues there and the hill climbers are adding to the problem. YOU COULD CAUSE THIS MAJOR TRAIL TO BE CLOSED IF YOU CONTINUE!

Watch for the groomers, they take up most of the trail and have the right of way!

Please pull over and DIM your lights for them, they have a long night out there.

Remember, you can get off the trail, the groomer can not.

Please ride on right side of the trail, STOP at the stop signs and treat YIELD signs appropriately.

Trail #3 North to Rockland is CLOSED on the South end and CLOSED on the North end.

Trail #8 from Ewen to trail #3 North is POOR.

Trail #3/8 East from Bruce Crossing to the trail #3 South intersection is POOR.

Trail #3/8 West from Bruce Crossing to the trail #3 North intersection is POOR.

Trail #3 South from the railroad grade to the CC road is CLOSED.

Trail #8 from the trail #3 South intersection to Trout Creek is POOR.

Trail #8 from Trout Creek to Kenton is POOR.

Trail #8 from Kenton to Sidnaw is POOR.

Trail #8/15/109 from Sidnaw to Bob Lake is POOR.

Have a fun and safe trip, thank you for riding our trails and visiting our local businesses!
