Greetings and Merry Christmas. Today has warmed up a bit to 38deg. Not good for snow. I think the trails will hold up well since there was a good base and I don’t think there will be many on the trails while its warm. (hopefully)Our drizzle is meant to turn to snow later tonight which will put trails in pretty good condition for tomorrow. I’m sure high traffic area’s will be icy, maybe a little snurty in places.Temps are going to be below freezing for the rest of the week. We have limited sleds left, so mild temps and good base make for a great day outdoors after ALL that Christmas food and cheer.
Have a great day. Brett & Shane

Merry Christmas Eve! It’s snowing ..another layer of "frosting" on the cake. We’ve had about 4" of heavy snow overnight. Still reporting overall conditions as Fair to Good – some better, some worse.
Gogebic Range Trail Authority: Trails 2-8 and 160 are all freshly groomed…11N is not groomed-the swampy area remains the villian…they will groom it as soon as possible. Here’s good news: Trail 11S should be ready for riding Saturday…the re-route is completed and they are out signing now… and we have an "INFO UPDATE" in the things you should know category. The Marenisco Gas Station on Trail 2 is closed. If this was a stop you planned on, it is no longer available.
From the Lake Gogebic Area-the groomers are out on all trails…so everything is freshly groomed. Heads Up: You may encounter Logging Trucks at the junction of 102 AND 8 W-pull over if you do.
From Watersmeet groomers reporting all trails are being groomed daily and Good conditions.
Remember, groomers can be out any time of the day or night so PLEASE pull over when you see them.
Check out web cams throughout the area to see the snow amounts for yourself. Find links on our website at westernup.info
