Traverse City Trail Report – Blue Sky Snowmobile Rentals – 02/06

Trails are in rough shape, we did not send out any rentals this past weekend due to icy conditions making it dangerous for novice riders. There is a chance of snow in the forecast for this week and into the weekend but no major accumulation in near site. The trails do have a good base and it wouldn’t take much to get it back to good riding shape. All we can do is hope for snow as we have been doing all winter. We still have a few sleds left for the busy upcoming presidents weekend. I am sure by then the trails will be in good shape for us… I will update again when we have a bit of a change.

2ND LOCATION: Blue Sky has added a 2nd location at Shanty Creek Resort. We have Brand new 600 liquid 2 person and single person SkiDoo Snowmobiles. Check out our website for more details www.bluesky-tvc.com or call us today. 231.633.2628

St. Ignace Trail Report – 02/06

Looks like somehow we came through the weekend mostly OK. The work and smart decisions on how to groom by our drivers have sure stretched the snow we have a long ways. I just don’t know how much longer we can make it last without a decent snowfall. We are smoothing things out today as it is supposed to get cold mid-week. Even though it is nice to see, the sun is forecasted to be out all week too, which may hurt us worse then the warm temps over the weekend. It is now the first full week of February and we have little to no ice, and the grass is showing in the yard, this is just strange.

Coming week looks like:

Quote:
Today: Increasing clouds, with a high near 38. West wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Tonight: Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 8. North wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 20. Wind chill values as low as zero. North wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 8. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 28. West wind around 5 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 19.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 31.

Thursday Night: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 10.

Friday: A chance of snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 16.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 7.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 19.
Which doesn’t look too bad, but still no storms on the horizon. Maintaining what we have will be tricky, but if it is still good and ridable I will post up some pics and a report later in the week.

The guys I talked to over the weekend said things were decently busy, which was nice to hear. We will see if we can get another weekend out of this, I think we can.

Planning and mobilization for the pond hockey on the 19th is in high gear. I think town is sold out and we will do everything we can to pull that off too!
