Drummond Island Trail Report – 01/13

We have had some snow lately and now have about 9 inches on the ground. There are still tons of waterholes on the trails but we are working on freezing them in. Between the expected snow fall this week plus the cold temps we are having we are expecting an improvement on the trails later this week.

We have had one of our groomers down and that has slowed the freezing in process down but we are back up and running and will have a better idea on how the trails are doing on Wed the 13th.

Cadillac Area Trail Report – Cadillac Trails – 01/12

January 12, 2016 – Conditions: Good

We picked up 2-3 inches overnight (part of the 6-12 inches forecasted for our area through 7 p.m. this evening.) Sure hope we have a big storm this afternoon. Actually, we will take what we get and be happy because we have a lot more snow now than we did two weeks ago. Much of our area has a foot of snow on the ground and the groomers are running as are the snowmobiles. We still have a few thin spots in the system so we will wait for more snow before upgrading our Conditions rating but sledders are having a good time and winter is finally here.

January 10, 2016 UPDATE – Conditions: Good

Just got a call from our Trail Coordinator reporting the trails are in GOOD CONDITION and the groomers will start their regular runs this evenings–FINALLY!!! It’s snowing heavily now and continues to build up.

We picked up 6 to 7 inches overnight and have been advised our winter storm warning will be in effect until this evening. It is snowing and blowing now.

There appears to be more snow coming each day until Friday. Temps have dropped as well giving us a chance to keep what we have. Our Trail Coordinator has gone for a ride and has promised to get back to me with a report when he gets back. You might want to check back later.
