Traverse City Trail Report – Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club – 02/08

The warm weather yesterday really took its toll on our trails. Groomers will not run tonight because everything is still wet. Because of the warm up, and heavy weekend traffic I would rate them fair at best, if not poor in some areas.

However, temps get cold tomorrow and we are under a winter storm watch from tomorrow night until Thursday.

Groomers will be out tomorrow night and we could quickly upgrade to a good status in 48 hours if we get the fresh snow forecasted!

Munising Area Trail Report – 02/08

The stuck pick-up trail damage issue on the West end of Trail 8 near campground road has been cleaned up.

Today temperatures are dropping and the Pisten Bully is working overtime with the Deere down.

From Wetmore, Trail 419, Trail 8, 7, 7/8 & 7 into Christmas have been groomed this morning. The section from Wetmore to Shingleton will be completed in the next few hours. All in good condition. Pisten Bully will be going right back out to get Trail 7 down to 440 groomed tonight, In the morning the Bully will be grooming 419 west through Munising & Christmas back around 7 & 8 to 419 east, Wetmore.
100% Snow forecast for Monday night through Wednesday.

Our John Deere Groomer is down until Tuesday due to a missing limiting block for the three point hitch. The missing block can cause serious damage to the track system so unfortunately we have to wait for parts.

Munising Trail Report. We have approximately 1 foot of snow on the ground more in some spots and little less in others. We are predicted to continue to have low temps for the next few days. We got a few inches of snow overnight. Grooming is underway and all trails are being groomed. Keep your fingers crossed and do the snow dance people. Trails are in fair to good condition, so with that being said DO THE SNOW DANCE, because we do need more snow.
