We still have to wait a bit longer for our groomers to get out to groom. We have received about 12 inches of new snow but still not enough to get out and groom. We do have some positive news, our temps are only going to be in the single digits the next couple of days so this will help firm up the trails.
The Gogebic Range Trail Authority: Still to early to get out to groom. We will let you know as soon as the groomer will be out.
Lake Gogebic Area Groomers: We have gotten about 12 inches of new snow and ice is starting to form on the lake. Our groomers are hoping to get out mid-week to start packing the trails.
For those of you who can’t wait another day to ride, unplowed roads and Trial 8 east are probably the best riding this early. Trails 1 south & 13 south are wet. Trial 102 & 13 north are rideable but very rough. Trail 100 at the south end of the lake, is temporarily closed while we reroute around some logging.
With all that said snowmobiling should be looking pretty good by the weekend, however there are always some hurdles to overcome early on in the season – so just don’t expect perfection just yet.
The U.P. White Thunder Riders of Watersmeet report: We have 6 inches on the ground. Not enough to get the groomers out yet unfortunately. We really need another 4-6 inches before we get the groomers out. Hang in there.

Trails are open, however there is not enough snow for grooming at this time. We have received 8 to 16 inches of snow in and around the Gaylord area. We will update as soon as grooming starts.

No new snow this morning, made it home at 2 this morning after a full day in Detroit with both the Lions and te Pistons game. Was up at Sledheads at 7 this morning to fire up my plow truck and did some of that plowing this morning. The snow is getting a little wetter and heavier so that might help build us a base. You know I cant stand sitting around so now I am on my way to lansing to pick up my daughter that is flying in from Denver. TC flites are full so that’s the next closest….It took almost 5.5 hours to get back from the Palace last night…..so no pics this morn, maybe I can get them on tomorrow. Thanks for checking in. Pete
