Paradise Area Trail Report – Paradise Area Night Riders – 12/30

December 30, 2016

20 degrees this morning and a light snow is falling. We picked up about 6 inches in the last 24 hrs. also. The weather guessers are calling for a few more today too.

I forgot to mention in yesterdays report that we blew a hydraulic line on the way back to the barn. Groomer Gerald worked on that most of the day and got it fixed. Of course it would be one of the hardest ones to get at….he had to drop 2 belly pans and take off 2 engine guards to even get at it….all this work for free mind you….hats off Gerald!!!

Today we are runnin trail #8 to Pine Stump and trails #452 & #453 around the Point. We are not grooming anything tomorrow ( New Years Eve ya know ), then we`ll get back to the Falls trail on the first. We still have a groomer down…the one with the bad fuel injector pump. We are waiting on parts. We had to go all the way to Europe to find a pump and it won`t be here till the second week of Jan. So please be patient with us, we are working hard to get the trails in good shape but have circumstances beyond our control. LET ER SNOW!!!!!

Groomer Chris

December 30, 2016

North Trail #9 Pine Stump Jct./Seney/Grand Marais Trail is groomed to Pine Stump and is in good condition.

Trail #45 to the Falls/Paradise Trail WARNING ! There are 2 large water holes on this trail. The first one is 2 miles in of M-123 and the other one is 8 miles in with large humps in the trail. Please be careful this could cause an accident. This trail is groomed just north of County Road 500 to the large swamp and is in good condition. The swamp is not frozen enough for the groomer. Please be cautious in this area to the falls. Logging operation from Skyline road to past Laurel Lake Road. Please watch out for logging trucks.

South Trail #9/2 to Epoufette/Trout Lake Trail is good condition and is groomed to the Rexton store.

We are grooming all 3 trails but not to the normal destinations due to lack of snow and our wet areas at not frozen. The forecast is for more snow but not cold weather.
