Ontonagon Trail Report – Scott’s Superior Inn – 01/12

WE got another 4-6 inches of snow since last report, and I’m happy to say by all reports trails in this area are EXCELLENT!

No problems to report anywhere! Traffic has been light all week, and looks to be light this weekend, perfect time to come up!

Remember if there’s good snow by you there’s a lot more here and fewer riders cause snow everywhere really spreads the traffic out, especially up here.

WE still have lots of lodging available , including units that sleep 8. Stay where the groomer lives!

Western U.P. Trail Report – Western U.P. Bureau – 01/12

Lake Gogebic Webcam

Lake Gogebic Webcam

Finally it looks like a great weekend to get out and ride. Our temps for today and tomorrow will only be in the single digits with night time lows around -12 tonight and -3 Friday night. Saturday and Sunday highs will be in the 20’s. You can’t ask for any better weather……

The Gogebic Range Trail Authority reports:

Overall conditions are very good. With our new snow and colder temps, our trails have set up good. In the last 36 hours, we have gotten between 6-10″ of new snow. All trails have been groomed and ready for this weekend.

Trails 11N,11s, and trial 160 are closed. Hopefully, the southern half of 160 will reopen the middle part January.

Lake Gogebic Area Groomer Report

All trails are groomed and are in very good condition – aside from some unavoidable wet holes in a few spots. As usual, the most snow is over the northern most trails, less as you head south on trail 1 south and 13 south. Continue to watch for a wet hole towards the north end of 102, but you can ride around it just use caution. Also on trail 1 south there remain a couple of wet areas.

PLEASE DO NOT RIDE THE HWY. IN BERGLAND FROM JW’S RESTAURANT TO THE GAS STATION!!! YOU WILL BE TICKETED. YOU MUST TAKE THE TRAIL AND CROSS AT ANTONIO’S RESTAURANT TO ACCESS THE GAS STATION. THANK YOU.

*If you’d like additional information about our area please contact The Lake Gogebic Area Chamber of Commerce at 888.GOGEBIC or www.lakegogebicarea.com. You can also email us at info@lakegogebicarea.com. Hope we see you soon – for those of you already up here have a safe ride!

U.P. Thunder Riders of Watersmeet Groomers Report:

All trails are in very good condition. The groomers are running daily. With all the new snow we have gotten riding should be great!

Please stay on trails, riding on unmarked trails can result is the clubs losing easement for the trail. So Please say on trails…..
