Grayling Trail Report – Fay’s Motel – 01/04

Greetings Sledders,

We picked up a meager inch or two yesterday but it was enough to help with the snirtiness somewhat on the south end of trail 7 and I would call that trail a fair from here to just south of Frederic where it improves greatly from there north. Trail 7 south of 72 is what it is and I’m tired of talking about it.

Trail 79 is in decent shape from the parking lot all the way to the Blue Bear, trail 47 is in decent shape as well. There are some thin areas through the pines which is typical.

I groomed everything north of 72 today and the Lovells trail yesterday and a reasonable indicator of a trail that’s building in snow is the fact that there is ample material in the corners to blade to the inside radius and pretty much all of the corners have material to work with. We are also blading the corners wide which will help as well.

The base is slowly building on all of the trails although it’s a slow process with the traffic and subsequent grooming that took place over the Holiday but we are gaining on it. There continues to be some marginal areas of snirt and that is typical as well. We need more snow before I can honestly put a "good" rating on everything so "fair" is the word.

Tired and I have our club meeting tonight so bye.
Ride Often and Please Be Safe,
Keith, Sandy and The Girls

Traverse City Trail Report – Blue Sky Snowmobile Rentals – 01/04

The Boardman Valley is snow covered and we continue to get more and more. This past week we had 12-20 inches of fresh snow fall in the area.

The groomers are out an working hard to make things flat and safe. Cold temps will stay in the area for a couple more days then we will see some normal temps again.

Lake effect snow should continue with 3-6 more inches expected.

This is usually a pretty slow weekend with people recovering from the Holiday Hangover! Perfect time to come to Traverse City. With reasonable room rates and a lot to do in the area, it’s a great place for a weekend getaway. Call today to book a sled! 231-633-2583 – www.bluesky-tvc.com
