Paradise Area Trail Report – 02/09

February 9, 2018

8 degrees this morning and partly cloudy. We got just a dusting of snow last night. FINALLY got all good news for ya`ll so here we go….

We have all 3 machines back on the trail!!!!!! A special shout out goes out to Groomer Gerald for his dedication. He took the lead on this project of the major failure and got `er back together!!! He missed 2 days of work and spent 16 hours working on that darn machine!!!! Oh, he did have a helper yesterday named Terry, a guy who has a cabin UP here. Sorry Terry, I forgot you`re last name but THANK YOU!!!

The trails did take a hit cause of all this down time but we`ll have them whipped back in shape for the weekend…….I guarantee it!!!!

Groomer Dave M. ran the South trail #8 yesterday and called it good.

Groomer Scott ran the Falls trail #45 last night and called it good. Both of them told me they need to be run again and when they do they will be ALOT better….and we are doing that today…..all 4 sections.

This weekend is gonna be busy but our trail system will be ready!!!!

Come on UP!!!!

Groomer Chris

St. Helen / Roscommon Trail Report – 02/09

February 9, 2018:

We’ve got snow! Is it a lot? No, but it IS enough to groom. Our Houghton Lake trail is reported as rideable, but with thin areas and some areas with rough ice – most likely caused by wheeled traffic during the warm-up. The Roscommon trail is rough due to lack of snow, but it is also rideable. We’re having a little snow this morning – small dense flakes that settle nicely. Not expecting a lot, but every bit will help. So, the report reads as "Rideable, but not Good."

The area behind the Clubhouse (the small loop) is poor, but we’re setting our sights on having a good Snow Run with our route running where the trails are the best. All checkpoints are also accessible by road, so we are looking forward to a good turnout. Let’s still do our Snow Dancin’ to get the trails in shape for the rest of the season. Thanks for your support!
