Grand Marais Trail Report – Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. – 02/07

GRAND MARAIS UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc.

Groomed the South trails 8,88, and 443, It was fairly bumpy out there this morning especially 443 but it groomed out smooth. Watch out for the groomer down South of the airport on 443 ( they have it coned around it!)Trimmed quite a few trees back, the ones I could reach anyway! Stay safe out there guys and girls! – Groomer Travis

Groomer Report: Went north. Was an easy night. Trails were in good shape from the start and not a lot of branches in the trail. Still a lot of low hanging stuff. Had to trim some trees tonight but I think all the hazard spots have been taken care of… Until the next snow, freezing rain or wind storm happens. Stay safe and be smart. Trails in great shape and watch out for low hanging trees. – Groomer Kevin.

The first half of trail 8 headed west groomed out fairly well. From trail 8 onto trail 43 and trail 88 groomed out well too, until I came upon Seney’s groomer and we had a little trouble passing each other. After we passed the rest of trail 43 and 88 groomed out well. Then the rest of trail 88 groomed out good till I turned around. Then from there headed back to town was kind of bumpy trying to smooth out the moguls in the bottom of the corners. For the most part most of the moguls seemed to groom out, but it was tough. Once back on trail 8 the other half of that seemed to groom out decent, but it was bumpy doing it. Groomer Max

Paradise Area Trail Report – 02/07

February 7, 2019

18 degrees this morning and cloudy. We are under a winter storm warning for today and a blizzard warning for tonight and tomorrow. "They" are calling for 6-12 inches and windy. I mention this cause I`ve had a couple phone calls asking how much snow we have left. Apparently down below has lost most of their snow. We haven`t lost any, we have waist high snow in the woods.

Now, go back and read my report from the 5th. This ice storm we had is really kicking our butts. The trails are all in excellent shape but the trees and branches leaning in on the trails is miserable. We have spent MANY, MANY hours trying to get it cleaned up but have a TON of more work to do. So please be patient.

If you`re coming UP this weekend, I say absolutely. Just don`t go flying around. Expect alot of face slappers hanging in the trails until we can catch up.

Thats it for today. I`m going out to work on the trails some more.

LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come on Mother Nature……lets see what else ya got!!!!!!!!!! We are Yooper tough!!!!!!!!!!

Groomer Chris
