Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 02/18

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western & Southern UP Trail Reports​ –

Ran trail 109 and 3 north to Toivola last night. With all the snow we got the last couple weeks and cold nights the trail are pristine.

Conditions as of February 18, 2019:

Snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are in good to very good condition. The groomers are out, so please watch for them. They have the right of way.

Trail 120 and 121 that goes around Freda is closed for the season and will not be reopened, as well as Trail 3 from Dollar Bay to Lake Linden. You can still get to Dollar Bay by way of Hancock and to Lake Linden by way of Calumet. Trail 133 is closed for the season for logging.

Please stay on the trails, STAY OFF THE ICE, respect private property, do not drink and drive, and above all else, drive safely. The signs on the trails are there for rider’s safety so please DO NOT remove or destroy them.

Snowfall & Weather:

Snowfall in the Keweenaw Peninsula: No new snow with 46 inches of snow on the ground, 205 inches have fallen to date as of 2/18/2019.

Today’s forecast: Cloudy with a 0% chance of snow, high 9, low 2

Tuesday’s forecast: Cloudy with a 10% chance of snow, high 19, low 7

Wednesday’s forecast: Cloudy with an 80% chance of snow, high 24, low 21

Thursday’s forecast: Cloudy with a 20% chance of snow, high 28, low 21

Friday’s forecast: Cloudy with a 20% chance of snow, high 28, low 23

Ontonagon Trail Report – 02/18

ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via North Country Snowmobile Club UP​ –

A great photo from one of our riders last weekend up at the Lake of the Clouds overlook. The trails are in phenomenal shape and the woods are brimming with snow – get up here and Ride the 906!

Trail Update: We groomed Trail 1 from White Pine to the Porkies, Trail 11N (South Boundary Rd), Trail 12 between White Pine and Ontonagon and 1/2 of Trail 13. Thanks for the great video, Greg!
