Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/24

It’s a 38 degree icy sunday morning. It rained during the night but nothing right now. Just many icy spots and lots of puddles. Just what we want to see. Its almost ten and had my first people just in and they are loaded up and heading back, 3 trailers at the Days Inn and 23 at the Ramada this morning and most of them were loaded up already. Blizzard warning on till tomorrow morning. Time will tell. One thing I haven’t mentioned all winter is that there is no gas in Lovells this year so keep that in mind if you do get to ride there.

I found an interesting movie yesterday on my Roku that was called Snowbeast. It was a 70s movie and the Snowbeast was grabbing people off the ski slopes. The good part in the show was the way they were buzzing around on 1970s Arctic Cat Panthers, made it look really fun and they didn’t even wear face masks or helmets. Pics below including dinner last night with Chubby Roger & Grayling & Shelly Call…..it was good to see them. So now our wait is on again to see if we get more snow. Thanks for checking in. Pete

Grand Marais Trail Report – Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. – 02/23

GRAND MARAIS UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc.

Groomer Report: Went north on trail 8, 888 and 88. Went into town twice. Trails are looking great. Need to watch out for sled parts on trail. Had a a sled burn down next to the stop sign at the corner of 8/89. Marked out with sticks. Stay safe. – Groomer Kevin.

Ran South Friday night, 8 443 and 88. Lots of moguls to start but got it groomed nice and flat, corners cut down. Trail in excellent shape and ready for the weekend. Be safe and enjoy. Groomer Will

Ran trail 8 East on Fri. This is my third season grooming with G.M. Sno-trails, but my first run of this season, due to lower back surgery.

Now…. The trail report: 8 East was banked and really bumpy. Reworked several corners to flatten. Piston Bully engine was laboring big time due to a ‘hard cut’ all the way out. I was extremely(!) busy making blade and drag adjustments all… night. After a 10 and 1/2 hour run the trail is flatter and smoother. Enjoy! Groomer Phil.
