Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 01/19

FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 01/19

Snow is falling in Frederic. Its a nice tight system snow which is what we need for a base. Its about ten a.m. and we are up to about an inch and a half so far. Lets see what it looks like by tonight. I had about the same amount at home at Lake Margrethe this morning. My friend that lives at Blue Lake said when she left home this moring about 4 that she had no snow yet but started running into it by the Grayling high school. Temps need to be colder so we can keep this snow. Time will tell. I did post a video on my Sledheads facebook page out front here this morning. Well today I am all the way up to double sixes in birthdays. Man how did I get so old so quick. Its also my best birthday present ever birthday my daughter who is up to 30 now…..Boy time flies when your having fun. Thats all I have this morning. Lets see what the day brings. Pic below was out front here about a half hour ago. Thanks for checking in. Pete

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Feb 4, 2026, 3am…Nuisance flurries hang on today, but the clipper parade returns starting Thursday, with a reinforcing shot of arctic air Friday that will result in some travel impacts as temperatures fall from near freezing early to the teens by afternoon with more snow showers and blustery conditions. Colder Saturday, with a few flurries around again, and then, you guessed it, more snow chances going into early next week…though signals point toward a warming trend during this period as well. #miweather #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskeyFeb 4, 2026, 3am…Nuisance flurries hang on today, but the clipper parade returns starting Thursday, with a reinforcing shot of arctic air Friday that will result in some travel impacts as temperatures fall from near freezing early to the teens by afternoon with more snow showers and blustery conditions. If you happen to find this boogie wheel between Alba and trail 76 north of Elmira please notify us, we need to get our hands on it. New part is on order and scheduled to be in tomorrow.
If all goes as planned trails will be back in shape by end of the week.
Huge thank you to Mike, Kevin, Phil, Rich and Craig for trying to get repairs made in timely fashion. Nothing our volunteers can do about shipping delays or parts availability. #jordanvalley #gaylord #petoskey

Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 01/19

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 01/19

Sean Diederich is back up riding and stopped in at the Rousseau Bar today! You know how the saying goes…..”It’s never too far…to the Rousseau Bar” and when you have great trails getting there, makes it even better!

Sean shared these photos and comments on the trails, “Never too far! The U.P. Superior Snowmobile Club did an awesome job last night. South of Mass City is bumpy….. Ran down to Rockland and was gonna go down to Bergland but turned around. Hopefully they can get out and groom everywhere tonight. The trail to Rousseau is also really good and smooth.”

Thanks for sharing Sean! I’m sure tomorrows riding will be better as it seems all clubs will be out there tonight!

‼Note: The conditions l of any trails right now are a direct reflection of the unfortunate weather conditions NOTHING to do with grooming operations! All clubs are doing everything they can with what they have to work with. For those that don’t know, the area came off of a very busy holiday weekend to rain and warm temps early this week…grooming operations had to be paused by most clubs and were just starting to resume last night!

TRAIL REPORT 1/19/2023 via Fletchy’s Otter Belly Lodge

Went out to check out the trails today and here it is! There are few dangerous water holes on trail 130. The first one is just east of the spur about 1/2 mile. The smaller but more dangerous of the two, because you don’t see it coming, is just before crossing 41 when 130 dead ends into 3 on the eastern section by Delaware. Outside of these holes the trails are pretty moguled out and need more snow. As you head further into the keweenaw trails 135 and 134 are in excellent shape. Near eagle harbor we have received around 2 inches so far and the groomers have not been out.

We will not be allowing our rental snowmobiles to travel east on trail 130 out of eagle harbor until these water holes are filled in! Thanks eveyone and ride with caution!
