TRAVERSE CITY FOOD AND TRAILS UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club – 01/14
I was hoping to write a good trail report for this week but unfortunately we had 43° and sunshine yesterday. Forecast shows a small front moving through that may dump 2 to 3 inches in our area. Unfortunately what we need is a good heavy snow dump. I would consider the trails currently unrideable. Hang in there it is mid January and things could turn around quickly…

TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club - Thank you to Ted,Steve,Jeremy and Dirk for taking time out of their busy days to do some emergency trail maintenance. We had a lot of overhanging tree limbs that were making it hard to get the groomer in and out of Fife Lake. These four guys took on the problem and got it solved. So even when your groomers can’t groom they are still hard at work trying to improve our great trail system. Special thanks to Ted for organizing this. I don’t know what we will do without you when you move... #traversecity#snowphotos... See MoreSee Less

TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Ranch Rudolf - If you want a winter experience this weekend it will have to be with Beau and Knox. This kind of horse power navigates snow, slush and dirt. Horse drawn hayrides are a great way to get outside and enjoy the season. Rides available by reservation only on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. 231-947-9529 The bad news is this is not the weekend snowmobilers are hoping for. Yes, there is still snow on the ground, but there is also mud and puddles. Groomers are not running as temps have been too warm. Lodge will be open 12pm to 4pm this Saturday and 12pm to 3pm this Sunday with counter service for food and beverage... #traversecity#snowphotos... See MoreSee Less
