Newberry Trail Report – Halfway Lake Resort – 02/06

Guests continue to be amazed at how awesome the trails are. "Smooth sailing" and "like glass" were comments I heard today. Everyone is happy and commenting on how we have been due for snow like this for a few years. We really cannot say much more.

We are getting 2-4" almost everyday and the plow guy is sick of plowing!!! Poor guy grooms trails at night, too. Much appreciation to our groomers who have been doing an awesome job!

Guests have been enjoying riding every direction from here- to Munising, Soo, Curtis, Naubinway- but they continue to remark that although the trails are good in other locations we (north of Newberry) definitely have a ton of snow…

Please ride safe. We are receiving multiple complaints of a hole on trail #45- about 15 miles North of Nby near Skyline Rd- the trail is partially plowed road.

We are located 12 mi NW of Newberry and 7 miles S of Pinestump Junction. Between Grand Marais and Paradise.

Thank you for your phone calls. Availability:Full through 2/9. Vacancy 2/10-2/14. Full 2/15 and 2/16.

Groomers are out running continuously on all trails to keep them in the best possible shape. PLEASE REMEMBER TO PULL OVER IF YOU SEE A GROOMER. THEY HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY…

The Watersmeet groomers reports: All trails are groomed and are in good to very good conditions. Trails in the Bruce Crossing area are also groomed and are in good condition. Use caution on trail 8 between Trout Creek and Ewen the snow is thinner in this area but still rideable.

Keep in mind groomers can be out day or night so watch out for them and please pull over or slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by.

Please be careful on corners as you know several Michigan Trail signs have been discontinued. These signs are posted on our trail map. PLEASE BE SAFE!!!!
