St. Ignace Trail Report – 01/29

Things are looking good around here. No we do not have 12″+ of base like they have North of here, we are standing at an average of 6″ or so, but all of our trails are super-highway flat and in great condition. There are no trail issues to deal with and things are looking fantastic. The forecasted 2-5″ for last night did not turn up (thanks Mother Nature AGAIN), but we are on our way to 1″ this morning, and that will brighten things up a bit. Off trail is working on about 12″ and it seems kind loose, so there is some fun to be had out in the woods, but keep an eye out for stumps and the like, but 2 tracks would be lots of fun right now.

Our groomers are both going to run everyday for the next 14 days except super-bowl Sunday. We are training up some new guys, so will be doing day-time running so the new guys can get their groomer-drivers-ed completed. By the end of February I hope to welcome a bunch of fresh faces to our ranks. Which brings me to introduce… Our new Groomer Driver KEN! He completed his first solo mission out of Brevort yesterday and will be working 2 days a week for us helping Bobby keep the Northern loop in good shape. Welcome aboard Ken!!

Now it is Thursday, and that means trail pic day. I headed out and grabbed a couple of quick pics, and got a little surprise. Found Randy out on a early morning training mission, so you get a bonus groomer pic too!

Enjoy the weekend trails, it is going to be fairly cold, which is making ice for pond hockey pretty well. The cold will firm up the slightly loose trails, and it should be a fantastic weekend ride for all. Have fun and be safe.

Please visit our website for discussion on current events, the trail pictures, and weather.
