Grayling Trail Report – Fay’s Motel – 03/09

Greetings Sledders,

Well this is the last one for this horrific season. Mother Nature has not been our friend for sure, but what the hell are you going to do.

I’ve been reluctant to file reports because we are in a basic day to day mode in terms of conditions. I rode Sunday with groomer drivers Art and Bill and had a real nice ride to Lewiston and back and of course we indulged in the best damned burger in God’s country at Tally’s. The difference is in the bun, reminds me of the burgers that my grandmother made at the Clio Bowling Arcade when I was a kid and admittedly I digress. I also went for a half of a ride with my good friend Robin Currie yesterday although he had to return due to sled problems, I continued on to do the Grayling loop which I found to be a better than good ride. John Jones and his son were in today and reported a great ride from here to Frederic, on up to Starvation and back. The trails have been white and tight and that is due to the decision to pan what we got last weekend, a good move on our part.

It’s 6:30 pm and the precip has turned back to snow. How much will we get? Who knows. What will it take to pull the trigger and pan the new snowfall? About 4" given the moisture content of what we’re getting.

Can I get a ride this weekend? Call first as it will be day to day from here on out. Our best guess right now is yes and that is predicated on how much Sun we get over the next couple of days.

Thanks for tuning on this report during this dismal season and we hope to be around to report on another.

Take Care,
Ride Often and Please Be Safe,
Keith, Sandy and The Girls

At Fay’s Motel enjoy direct access to the Grayling Area snowmobile trails.
