Gaylord Area Trail Report – Ray’s Retreat Country Inn – 12/10
I can’t say how the trail conditions are…. I haven’t been on them, and at this point haven’t talked to anyone to know.
There have been some sleds go by on the trail. The last time I was outside the snow was over a foot. According to the Doppler center we have 15 inches of snow.
Its been a snowy day. Roads are snow covered and slick in spots.
Snow continues to be in the forecast everyday this week. Cold will continue. Looking so good!!!

Powder! Unfortunately most, if not all of this snow has been caused by Lake effect. We have had anywhere from a foot to 2 feet of snowfall on the Boardman Trail System. This snow is awesome to get once a base is established. We took a couple out on a private tour and had a little fun, however, the trails have not been groomed as of yet and most likely due to the fluffy snow! We need some system snow, you know the wet heavy stuff, and some cold temps and the trails will be good to go. The forecast looks good for snow almost everyday this week. If your out riding please respect the trails as they have not been groomed as of yet. They can be tricky to negotiate with inconsistent terrain. If you decide to go off trail remember this snow is light and fluffy and can hide stumps and down trees so be careful. We all want to get out and ride and have fun, patience is tough when we all sit and look at our sleds in the garage. Looks like we are off to a good start with this blast of snow, forecast is cold and snow. I will update the trail report once we notice grooming has started.
