Traverse City Trail Report – Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club – 01/13

Groomers went out yesterday and groomer most of our system with the last section being groomed tonight. It was a challenging groom dealing with the wet spots caused by the Tuesday’s rain.

However it did lay down a nice hard packed base with some icy areas in some spots. Last night we picked up about 4″ of fresh snow that will pack in nicely.

More snow is forecasted for today and cold temps for the weekend. Groomers will be running on a daily basis and trail conditions should be “good ” by the weekend.

A big thank you to whoever drove a pickup down portions of the trail by the fairgrounds after the rain on Tuesday. There is 1 foot deep frozen ruts and is almost not ridable currently. Groomer driver Don will be out there today to smooth out this mess.

Make sure to give him a thumbs up 👍 if you see him! He will behaving a rough ride in the groomer!

Sledheads of Frederic – 01/12

Mo Mo Nah Chee Chee Nah is a snow chant, not a rain chant……..The rain was coming down pretty good after I got back to Frederic yesterday about 4 in the afternoon till about 9 o’clock and then it turned to snow which gave us another 3 inches overnight. The good part about that is that it really didn’t hurt us. Riders that have been in here this morning say trails are still great so that’s all we need to know. Snow is still coming down and its almost noon Thursday morning.
