Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 01/14

Get your riding in NOW cause I sure don’t like the forecast for the next week, it said 48 for next Friday which no one wants to see.

Hopefully things will change by then. So sled traffic for Friday was heavy and this morning trailer counts were the most I have ever seen at the Ramada with 49, 45 is the most I ever remember.

I only count sled trailers and there must have been another 15 trailers with the Hummer crowd. 9 trailers at the Days Inn…Trails are excellent, at least right now till they get a ton of traffic. Its hard to believe but if anyone wants to come north and relax in the warmth next weekend our cottage is still available, or maybe we will luck out and get a storm. Lots of riders mean more accidents out there.

Below are pics of an accident from yesterday just west of Frederic. Rider on the ski doo going way to fast and of course had been drinking, bounced off one oncoming sled and hit another head on. Luckily no one killed. People just don’t realize how quick you can die out there and believe me it happens. I only know of 3 deaths so far this season so lets try to keep that total down this season.

I keep forgetting to mention that you should take a picture of your sled with your trail permit on it because I have had many people tell me their permits have blown off. That way you have some proof in case you get stopped.

Today’s pics from yesterday are one of a Yamaha getting a new idler on it outside. Everybody loves a pic like that except the Yamaha people.. Thanks for checking in. Pete — http://frederic-mi.com/get-your-riding-in-now/
