Gaylord Area Trail Report – VisitGaylord.com – 12/08
Still snowing and blowing in the air here in Frederic, we are up to about 8 inches of lake effect snow. I have heard reports of 16 inches up by Mancelona and lakes of the north and people have told me they saw sleds running up the trail north of waters towards Gaylord. I checked all the trail crossing on the way up to Frederic and just outside of Frederic but still only truck tracks on them. I would imagine it wont be to long and I will see a sled but I still do not recommend riding in what we do have. I just sold my first 4 trail permits to Rich & Lisa who have a place up in Lakes of the North and are on their way there. I certainly do not want to get my plow out yet to move any of this snow as I would like to get it packed down to help us get a decent base going. So that’s in a nut shell for today. FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> HAPPY NEW YEAR - It's been a great day to ride in Frederic, Sled traffic has been steady all day. Riders stopping in for goodies and to say hi. I would say this has been the busiest day of the season with the amount of sleds that have been around. Dinner last nite at the Frederic Inn was great and you can see the five of us showing off our meat. I was in deep in sleep way before midnite. Also a shout out to the Hummell crew from Atlanta Georgia that came in to ride with their brother Francis Hummell who also is a local groomer driver for the Grayling club. #gaylord #snowphotos
