Even with no recent snowfall the entire staff of groomers are keeping the Keweenaw Snowmobile Club trails in great spring condition! This is the Keweenaw Snowmobile Trail System Report for Monday, March 19, 2018.

Snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are open and in Fair to good condition. Groomers are out.

Trail 133 is now closed for the rest of the season, due to logging. Please respect this closure and stay off the trail. There is still plenty of good riding on the rest of the Keweenaw Snowmobile Clubs trail system. You can still get in and out of Gay via trail 122/124.

Remember when you’re out on the trails to watch out for the groomers. They have the right away.

The Keweenaw Convention & Visitors Bureau asks that you stay on the trails, STAY OFF THE ICE, respect private property, do not drink and drive, and above all else, drive safely. The signs on the trail are there for riders’ safety so please DO Not remove or destroy them.

Snowfall & Weather:
Snow fall in the Keweenaw Peninsula –No new snow with 38 inches of snow on the ground, 260 inches have fallen to date as of 3/13/2018.
Today’s forecast: Partly cloudy, with a 10% chance of snow, high 24, low 11
Tomorrow’s forecast: Mostly cloudy with a 10% chance of snow, high 23, low 14
Wednesday: Cloudy with a 10% chance of snow, high 28, low 14
Thursday: Mostly sunny with a 10% chance of snow, high 31, low 18
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a 10% chance of snow, high 35, low 18

Out last night starting to repair what Mother Nature is trying to take down.

We are open with late season riding conditions. The system held up better than expected with bare spots on southern facing hills, water in low areas and ice in corners.

We will be grooming until the weekend but without substantial new snow (which is not in the forecast) that will most likely be it.

You definitely can ride from north of Lake Gogebic to Copper Harbor, so get up here and get that last ride in!!!
