Our guys checked the trail yesterday and unfortunately there is not enough snow to groom. This is probably not a surprise since we’ve only received a dusting since the weekend.

There is a thick base of ice but we need several inches of snow on top of it-otherwise the groomer has nothing to work with. Temperatures have held in the 20’s and riding is still decent in the woods. The railroad grade is hit-and-miss, and rider traffic has really dwindled. Today it’s in the teens and is supposed to reach a high of 30. Friday and Saturday are forecasted to be in the mid to upper 30’s. Sunday and Monday are looking like we’ll break 40s. I do believe the writing is on the wall…or in the snow…Expect conditions in the woods to hold longest when the melt-off begins. So after last weekends meltdown we’re back in business. Parts of our area picked up some surprise snow.

The northeast part of the trail system got 5.5″ (Peegeos area) and Fife Lake reported 5″.

We still had snow on our trails which is now ICE with fluff on top. Groomers have gone out and with temps below freezing the rest of the work week I’d say plan on a last ride this weekend if you can.

IF YOU COME UP BE CAREFUL Saturday: 34 Degrees and a chance of snow, Sunday: 41 and sun followed by mid 50’s next week and rain. Trail 5
