Benzie Area Trail Report – Benzie Bureau – 02/29

Benzie Visitor Bureau – 02/29

Hi all! Well, we got 4-6′ over the weekend so it was certainly rideable and not too bad out there! Groomers were not out but weatherman said we could see a potentially heavy snow storm yesterday and today, but wacky weather is what we got instead. We got snow, ice and rain, so not sure what is left out there. I am sure it is snow covered but sloppy and gonna be hard crusty ice too. I guess I am going to have to wait and see what I hear from my contacts and from the Snowbirds to really say. Today was a big sloppy mess. Weather man says we could get some more real snow this weekend so I guess I will just have to get back here the end of the week and let you know what the heck pans out. What a ridiculous season so far. CYA on the trails! CarolB

Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 02/29

Happy Leap Day! And a very, very, very windy Leap Day it is on the Keweenaw. Not snowing here yet, but I hear it’s doing a good job of it a bit south of us. If you’re out on the Keweenaw today, on a snowmobile, on skis, or even in a vehicle, be careful as drifting and low visibility can occur with the high winds, especially if and when it starts snowing. Watch out for groomers and each other! Ride Safe! — Via
